Inclement Weather Alternative Bus Stops Will Continue for Friday, January 30, 2026

Garrison UFSD Families,
I am writing with an update regarding transportation for tomorrow, Friday, January 30, 2026
This afternoon, we checked the affected roads again, and I am pleased to share that crews were out widening the roadway and addressing the areas that have been difficult for our buses to navigate. We appreciate their continued efforts and are encouraged by the progress.
However, there is no way to confirm before tomorrow morning’s transportation routes that all road‑widening work will be completed or that any remaining slippery surfaces will be fully cleared. We also need the opportunity to observe these roads ourselves in the daylight before making changes to bus routes.
For these reasons, we will need to continue using the Inclement Weather Alternative Bus Stops for both AM pick‑up and PM drop‑off on Friday, January 30th, for students who live on Avery Road, Travis Corners Road, Indian Brook Road, and Old Albany Post Road.

We understand that this creates frustration and disruption for some families, and we truly appreciate your patience and flexibility during this period. At the same time, ensuring safe travel for our students and drivers remains our top priority as we decide when to resume regular bus service.
We will reassess the roads again tomorrow afternoon and update you as soon as conditions allow us to resume normal transportation.
Thank you again for your understanding and cooperation.
Respectfully,
Dr. Greg Stowell
Superintendent of Schools
