About the Forest
The Garrison Union Free School District is fortunate to own a School Forest, consisting of 181 acres located behind the school, in the center of the area bounded by Routes 9D and 9, and Route 403 and Snake Hill Road. The Forest lands were donated to the District beginning in the early 1960s for educational purposes and for the enjoyment of the community. A volunteer School Forest Committee watches over the Forest and reports to the Board of Education. Please download our two-part map and enjoy hiking in the Forest.
