Allison Emig, Principal
Allison Emig joins Garrison Union Free School District as the school’s new principal in November 2020.
Mrs. Emig comes to GUFS with over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience. She spent four years as a principal at Southern Westchester BOCES leading highly specialized elementary and middle school programs. Prior to BOCES, Mrs. Emig was at Katonah Lewisboro where she began her teaching career and spent 15 years covering most elementary grade levels, including special education, and middle school.
Mrs. Emig’s work as a principal with Southern Westchester Boces centered around creating successful educational programs to fulfill students’ needs across the region. Mr. Albano added, “Allison was a leader through the transition from in-person to remote virtual instruction in the Spring and facilitated the transition back to school this Fall focused on supporting the students, families, and teachers. These skills and experiences will be invaluable to Garrison as we navigate the challenge of today and into the future for our students.”
Mrs. Emig earned a bachelor’s degree in education, with a concentration in special education from Mount Saint Mary College. She received a master’s in science in special education from College of New Rochelle and a leadership diploma from Manhattanville College. She and husband have two children and live in the Wappingers Central School District.
